Chilean constitutional process

The UC Constitutional Forum is an initiative developed by the Faculty of Law -in which other faculties and academics of the University participate- whose objective is to contribute to the constitutional debate and the informed participation of citizens.

We understand that the constituent process does not refer only to the work of drafting the constitutional text that the Convention will carry out, but also involves the discussion and dialogue of the entire community around certain fundamental agreements that should be reflected in the new Constitution. It is in this context that universities have the inescapable duty to contribute with an academic and interdisciplinary reflection to the different edges that the constitutional discussion opens.

In addition, since 2020 we have worked together with a team of academics from the University of Melbourne with a view to understanding the process and also contributing from foreign experience to those involved in the generation of a new fundamental charter for Chile.
